This watercolor was painted from a photo while visiting the little village of Truchas, New Mexico.  Of course, I had to add my palette of colors to bring some "happiness" to it.

This was painted from a photo I took last winter while traveling through Hondo Valley.  I had traveled this road for the last 40 years or so, but never noticed this sweet little church. 

This was one of the paintings completed in my last acrylic workshop.  We all had a great time.

I started my watercolor class last Wednesday at Garden and Arts Center, Lubbock, Texas.  This is the painting we worked on.  Really enjoying getting back into my watercolors. 

 

I use mostly transparent watercolors, except for my teal sky, which is opaque.

This was fun and challenging painting this little lady in my palette of colors. 

 

Ben Konis (wonderful artist from Amarillo, Texas) always said "if the value is right, the color is right".  I never painted another tree trunk brown.

This was a commission.  Her husband bought this for her for Valentine's Day.

When painting my animal portraits I usually use pastels.  I have painted my daughter's dog in acrylic, using my vibrant colors

This painting was done after visiting the small town of Los Ojos outside of Santa Fe.  I entered it in the 41st Annual Western Federation of Watercolor Societies held in Colorado this year.
